Jesus emphasized that money is temporary, urging people to store up "treasures in heaven" rather than on Earth (Luke 12:13), and that the love of money is a dangerous distraction from God (Mark 10:25).  He taught that true wealth is spiritual, not material, and that one cannot serve both God and money as masters (Matthew 6:24).

However, money is not inherently evil or sinful.  Knowledge, talents, and the ambition to work hard are gifts from God that may allow us to accumulate wealth.  How we use our blessings, providing generosity and compassion for our neighbors and advancing God’s message of salvation, is a test of our character and faithfulness.

In 2018 and 2019, the parish started the St. Luke’s Endowment Fund and the Mother Claudia Endowment Fund for the Arts and Healing, respectively. The St. Luke’s Fund helps our parish more completely develop its ministries and provides funds for capital improvements to our facilities, enabling St. Luke’s to advance God’s message of salvation.  The Mother Claudia Fund allows our parish to provide generosity and compassion through support for healing organizations and the advancement of culture and the arts in our community.

Please consider donating to our endowment funds.  We accept various types of assets, in addition to cash payments.  We have advisors available to answer questions you may have regarding ways to give and potential tax advantages.
