Dear Parish Family,

On September 7th we will be getting a new seminarian at St. Luke's: Anne-Marie Eastman. Anne-Marie will work closely under the supervision of Reverend Ashley as she receives practical, hands-on training in the parish. St. Luke's will become a teaching classroom where Anne-Marie will have opportunities to practice preaching, providing spiritual care, engaging in mission work, and formation. She will develop specific learning goals with Reverend Ashley (and through her seminary) that she will fulfill each semester. Anne-Marie will be with us for two years. Please see her bio below and welcome her when she starts on kick-off Sunday!

Hello! I’m Anne-Marie Eastman, and I’m so grateful to be joining you this year as your seminarian. I’m a Master of Divinity student at General Theological Seminary, and I am currently in the discernment process in the Diocese of Utah.

I grew up in the Episcopal Church in Alabama, where my faith was shaped by both the sacramental life of the church and a deep family commitment to justice. I’ve lived in Utah for the past ten years and have been active at St. Mark’s, serving in various lay leadership and formation roles.

Before moving to Utah, I worked as a counselor — and before that, I spent several years touring and recording with a rock band. I bring with me a love of liturgy, contemplative prayer, chant, and joining with others as they listen for the ways God is calling them into deeper relationship. I’m excited to learn from you this year—sharing in the rhythms of parish life and continuing to discern what it means to serve as a priest in the Episcopal Church.

I look forward to getting to know you.
