I am so honored to be nominated to join the Vestry at St. Luke’s. Since making Park City my primary residence two years ago, I have found my spiritual home at St. Luke’s, and I am thankful for its welcoming and loving community. I enjoy attending the Beer and BS book group and the Women’s Dinners at St. Luke’s. I also helped plan St. Luke’s participation with the Utah Diocese’s entry in the SLC Pride Parade this past June. I was a very committed and involved member of my previous church, St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Palo Alto, CA, for 30 years, where I served on the vestry three times. Through the years, it also seems like I served on just about every committee, the most recent being a social justice group that grew out of the Sacred Ground workshop. I hope to become just as committed and involved at St. Luke’s.
I grew up on the Jersey Shore and was raised in the Catholic Church. After college, I moved to Northern Virginia and worked at DC Children’s Hospital and then the Pediatric Branch at NIH. Thirty-six years ago, I ventured to California for graduate school for my Pediatric Nurse Practitioner degree. I then met my husband, Bjorn, and enjoyed living in the San Francisco Bay Area and working at Oakland Children’s Hospital and Stanford Children’s Hospital. We bought a second home here in Park City in 2001 and have loved the town ever since. We are so happy to make it a permanent home now. We have one daughter who lives in Vermont and is an educator getting her Master’s in Library Science.
