Coming out of Winter, both colonies were Alive, but one was queenless and had a diminishing population. Root Revival combined the hives to make a strong queen right colony with last year’s Queen. This hive currently has a honey super on and is making honey for us.
Root Revival brought a new colony to replace the empty spot with a new 2025 queen.
The photo is a brood frame with honey surrounding the newly made brood nest. The queen is not on this frame, but you can tell it’s fresh because of the light tan color of the capped brood. This hive is currently finishing the second deep box and will get its honey super a little later, in about 3 weeks. Hoping to get a late-season honey crop.
For those interested in supporting the St. Luke's Bees, please email Ruby at
rubyamdi@yahoo.com, and I will forward you the Root Revival information. Each sponsor will get a jar of Blessed honey.
Thanks,
Ruby and Luisa Diaz-Hill
